Illustrations for Storying
In 2019 we launched a project in cooperation with Tan Chen Chen. The goal was to create four illustrations for 10 select Bible stories released under the
CC0 license .
40 images are released in high resolution raster and vector formats to the Public Domain under the
CC0 License . This means that they may be used, duplicated, even improved on without securing additional permission or fees. From storybooks to coloring books to animations to lesson aids ... bringing the stories of the Bible to life for children and adults around the world.
We did provide stipends to the Artists. These funds help to provide for the Artists and thank them for their contributions to tellers of Bible stories around the world. We also use a small portion of the funds to maintain our website, presenting the images in a pleasing manner and improving search and usability.

Our Story - Why this sort of project?
In the Fall of 2014 I began serving as a Family Pastor in a church overseas. Our limited budget combined with a weekly desire to illustrate stories from the Bible for our children, families, and activities drove me into scouring the internet for usable images.
What I quickly discovered was many images were either poor resolution, saddled with watermarks, or questionable whether copyright allowed for them to be reproduced. Soon our family decided we could do something to help those who shared our plight!
In 2015 we began working with some Artists, providing a small stipend to produce a series of 4 images for each Bible story , under the condition that they would release the results into the Public Domain (CC0 License). We took the images the artists drew, converted them to vector images (SVG
), solving the resolution problem. All the images could now be the size of a billboard (or bigger!) and still be crystal clear. Finally we added the images to our simple site, but also to two repositories of public domain images, Pixabay.com
and Openclipart.org
Our 400+ self & crowd funded images have already been download some 200,000+ times by people all over the world! We have been delighted to receive thank you messages
from every continent of the world (except Antarctica)!

But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26 And they were astonished exceedingly, saying unto him, Then who can be saved? 27 Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God. 28 Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29 Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the gospel’s sake, 30 but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.
23 Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. 24 And the king said, Fetch me a sword.
